911 Calls Not Working from Landlines in Gilroy

A phone company is working to fix the problem, but all 911 calls should be made from cellphones until further notice.

Gilroy police are warning residents that, because of a phone system problem, they can't call 911 from landlines this morning.

Police said the problem is being investigated by a phone company, and initially appears to be affecting residents within city limits and in other parts of southern Santa Clara County.

They did not have an estimate for when the problem would be resolved.
