Crime Lab Results Provide New Leads in Sierra LaMar Case

It's been more than three weeks of waiting and sheriff’s investigators now have results from the county crime lab unit, which conducted forensic testing on personal items belonging to missing Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar.

Authorities announced that a pair of pants and shirt found folded in Sierra's Juicy-brand bag, which was uncovered a short distance from the LaMar home two days after the teen disappeared produced more leads in the Sierra LaMar case, but authorities won't release any new clues just yet.

"Due to the on-going investigative efforts in the case, no specific information will be released at this time pertaining to the results," Sgt. Jose Cardoza of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office wrote in a prepared statement. "The crime lab results, however, have provided investigators with additional leads to follow."

Sierra's Juicy bag and clothing—which were —were tested for any additional traces of evidence that may have come across the teen's clothing, like hair fibers. The Sobrato High student's items were also examined for DNA and visible prints.
