Criminal Acts: Fowl Bandit, Drug Possession and Identity Theft

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Thursday through Monday, from car accidents to thefts to graffiti. Here’s a selection from the latest press report.

Sunday, Jan. 29
7:30 p.m.—A man was booked into county jail after he was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and on parole.

3:56 p.m.—Two adult males were cited for being in possession of marijuana around the area of Alexander and Lewis Streets. A minor was also cited for being in possession of alcohol.

1:33 a.m.—A 24-year-old male was arrested on Third Street after police found him to be in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, Jan. 28
11:03 p.m.—A man drove his vehicle into a parked police vehicle on Monterey Street and then fled the scene. The arrestee was contacted later and found to be under the influence of alcohol, and was subsequently arrested.

Friday, Jan. 27
A 23-year-old fled from a vehicle on foot after police contacted him for a felony arrest warrant around the area of Alexander and East Sixth St. The officers were able to catch the suspect and arrested him without further incident.

8 p.m.—A woman told police she was punched in the chest twice by the suspect during an argument on Dowdy Street.

8:51 a.m.—A person was arrested on Maple Street after he threw a dresser into the backyard of the victim’s residence and then assaulted the victim. When the victim confronted the 30-year-old suspect about the dresser, he opened one of its doors and began hitting the victim with it.

12:01 a.m.—A victim told police that their debit card had been used to make over  $1,000 worth of purchases in Southern California.

Thursday, Jan. 26
A residence on Monterey Street was burglarized. Electronics valued at $1,050 were stolen.

10:31 a.m.—An unknown suspect cut through a wired enclosure on Monterey Road and stole the victim’s rooster and hens.

Tuesday, Jan. 21
5 p.m.—A victim reported that an unknown subject had used his credit card information to make over $400 worth of purchases in New Mexico. The suspect is unknown.

Monday, Jan. 20
12 a.m.—A victim reported that her credit card number had been used in Los Angeles to purchase $400 worth of gas.
