Search For Sierra LaMar Expands into Gilroy

Sheriff's Office investigators will begin searching for Sierra LaMar in Gilroy and San Martin this week.

Search efforts for missing Morgan Hill teen Sierra LaMar will begin to take place in Gilroy and San Martin starting this week, according to Sgt. Jose Cardoza of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

Searches will continue in Morgan Hill as well. Canvass searches extending further from the LaMar home will take place and investigators will follow all leads and tips that continue to come in for Sierra, Cardoza wrote in a prepared statement.

Gilroy police participated in search efforts for Sierra last week, but won't be involved this week unless called on for assitance, GPD Spokesman Sgt. Chad Gallacinao said.

“Tips and information on the case continue to come in, along with the endless offers of assistance from the community,” Cardoza wrote. “The Santa Clara Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the community for all of their help and support in the Sierra Lamar case.”
