Suspects Caught Burglarizing Sony Outlet

The three men lived outside of Gilroy.

Three men are in the county’s Main Jail Sunday after police reportedly found them burglarizing the Sony outlet store at the Gilroy Premium Outlets, according to a press release from the Gilroy Police Department.

A witness told police that the three suspects were breaking into the store and stealing electronics at 1:11 a.m., said police.  The trio reportedly ran when police arrived, carrying the merchandise with them. 

Police caught one suspect a short distance away, but the remaining two were able to make it to a getaway car, according to the release. Officers were able to stop the car as it left the area, arresting the remaining two men.

All of the stolen property was recovered, police said.

The men, all from out of town, are facing charges related to burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime.

Two of the men are Watsonville residents, 21-year-old Joseph Gutierrez and 19-year-old Isaias Barron-Zamora. The third is a Freedom resident: Ruben Garcia, 19.
