TOSS IT OR TAKE IT?
Speaking at Covenant Village of Turlock recently, downsizing expert Greg Gunderson shared a table full of items pulled from clients’ homes during the moving process. The gelatin dessert shown above has an expiration date of 12.19.1982 and is a good example of something that shouldn’t be moved to a new home. Polling the audience of 30, Gunderson found that all attendees have lived in their houses more than 20 years; one has lived in the same place for 58 years. “We’re challenged by our stuff and accumulations,” he said. “Moving is difficult at any age, but it’s a lot like running. You don’t like the workouts. You may not even like doing it, but once you’ve done it you feel so much better. And you feel better and better as each day moves forward.”
