Bracco's Towing Hauls in Win During Reno Tow Show

The annual show is part exhibition, part 'beauty contest.'

A truck from Bracco’s Towing has won first place in the car carrier category at the California Tow Truck Association’s Western States Tow Show in Reno, NV, this month.

“It’s a beauty contest,” laughed Dion Bracco, owner of Bracco’s towing.

Participants were judged not only by the external show quality of the vehicle, but also by the practicality of tool and decal placement.

However, unlike many show vehicles, Bracco said this one is in active duty.

“It’s out there towing cars right now,” he said.

This was a problem on the way to the show, as the six inches of slush on Donner Pass reportedly did a number on the vehicle’s finish.

“It was a disaster by the time we got to Reno,” he said.

The annual show, last Wednesday through Saturday, had workshops, exhibitions and discussions related to the tow industry.
