Criminal Acts: Concealed Weapons, Biting and Dog Attacks

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

 

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Thursday through Sunday, from car accidents to thefts to graffiti. Here’s a selection from the latest press report. 

Sunday, May 27
9:20 a.m.—Unknown suspects entered a business on Monterey Street and stole a vehicle. The suspects entered the business by cutting a barb wire fence, and damaged the front gate as they drove off. There are no suspects, witnesses or evidence at this time.

1:47 a.m.—A 38-year-old male was arrested around the area of Forest Street and Walnut Lane for possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Saturday, May 26
9:56 p.m.—A black 1992, Toyota was recovered after being stolen. One female was taken into custody for the violation.

5:51 p.m.— was vandalized. A window was smashed and extensive graffiti was on one of the buildings.

1:39 a.m.—A 33-year-old male was arrested for being in possession of an illegal weapon and stolen property.

1:39 a.m.—A 20-year-old male was found to be in a possession of a concealed pocket knife around the area of Hanna and Third streets.

Friday, May 25
9:30 p.m.—A vehicle parked outside the Longhouse Restaurant was burglarized. Unknown suspects gained entry into the locked vehicle by smashing a window, and stole a purse containing cash, credit cards and checks.

10:36 p.m.—A 28-year-old woman bit a victim in the hand twice, breaking the skin, during a struggle over keys. The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.

9:54 a.m.—An unknown suspect manipulated two victims into accessing a website from their computers, which then allowed the suspect to access the victims' identities, credit card information and bank account info. 

9:52 a.m.—A 45-year-old male was arrested for an outstanding warrant and was found to be in possession of a counterfeit $50 bill. 

6:38 a.m.—During a consent stop, officers determined that a 20-year-old female had a warrant out for her arrest and later found 0.8 grams of methamphetamine on her.

Thursday, May 24
6 p.m.—A person was taken to Kaiser for medical issues after threatening suicide.

12:20 p.m.—Five dogs broke the fence board enclosing a residence on Glenview Court and attacked and killed the neighbor’s dog.

Wednesday, May 23
1:34 p.m.—A minor was found to be in possession of a razor blade at school and was taken into custody.

1 p.m.—A person was arrested for attempting to steal “intimacy aids” from a business on Camino Arroyo. The suspect was witnessed by Loss Prevention stealing a Lifestyle-brand vibrating ring and condoms.

11:41 a.m.—A Pitbull attacked and killed a terrier mix dog on Alexander Street. 

Monday, May 21
2:50 p.m.—A 41-year-old male was arrested for being in possession of a concealed dagger and possession of drug paraphernalia.
