Criminal Acts: Victim Slashed While Walking Home

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Thursday through Sunday, from car accidents to burglaries to assaults. Here’s a selection from the latest press report.

Thursday, Jan. 5
12:05 a.m.—A male subject was arrested for being in possession of methamphetamine on Church St.

Wednesday, Jan. 4
11:06 p.m.—A 19-year-old male was arrested around the area of Eschenburg Drive for fleeing from an officer and for being in possession of methamphetamine

6:04 p.m.—An unknown suspect used a victim’s debit card without permission and racked up over $200 worth of charges down south.

5 p.m.—A victim was walking home on Kern Avenue when he was suddenly attacked from behind. The suspect told him to hand over his bag, and as the victim was fighting him off the suspect slashed him with a knife. The victim was able to free himself from the subject and ran home. The suspect is unknown and believed to be a transient.

Tuesday, Jan. 3
10:04 p.m.—A suspect paid for merchandise with fraudulent American Express Travelers checks on Camino Arroyo.

Monday, Jan. 2

11:53 p.m.—A suspect stole a victim’s vehicle. The stolen vehicle was later located with the suspect inside. The suspect was arrested.

11:40 a.m.—Subject on Cypress Court attempted to commit suicide.

Friday, Dec. 30
9:30 a.m.—A victim’s American Express card was fraudulently used by an unknown person who rung up more than $800 in charges.

Monday, Dec. 26
12 p.m.—An unknown subject entered a residence on El Toro Way and stole over $300 worth of electronics.

Saturday, Dec. 24
11 a.m.—Two rings totaling $800 were reported missing after cleaning ladies cleaned a house on Fifth Street.
