Tuesday's High-Speed Rail Workshop Covers Design and Integration

Updates regarding the stations' design, the rail's integration into the station and more will be discussed at Tuesday's workshop, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Gilroy Senior Center.

The San Jose to Merced High-Speed Train Project Team will be conducting their fourth round of workshops at the Gilroy Senior Center on Tuesday evening.

Around 40-to-50 people are expected to attend the workshop, which offers locals the chance to examine the controversial project's development through South Santa Clara County by reviewing updates on the station's design.

Team members will discuss how the rail will be integrated into the station on a broader level by touching on any affects it may have on parking and future development.

Officials will also describe construction-related activities and potential impacts in reference to the project's Environmental Impact Report and statement, with sound disturbances to animals being discussed at the city's . 

The alignments–the ground plan for the rail–under evaluation for the entire southern part of the county, including Gilroy and Morgan Hill, will further be available for viewing at tonight's workshop.
