National Weather Service Reports Freezing Temperatures

The National Weather Service says black ice is likely.

Those clear skies that made for a beautiful, sunny day throughout the Bay Area Monday have allowed prolonged freezing temperatures to creep in overnight and through the morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Throughout the Bay Area a freeze warning was in place until 8 a.m. Tuesday, weather officials said as of 11 p.m. Monday night.

Clear skies and light winds have dipped temperatures to 25 through 35 degrees along the corridor between San Jose and San Francisco. In Gilroy, residents were greeted with a low of 28 degrees Monday night, with temperatures in the low 30s expected for Tuesday evening, according to The Weather Channel.
