Get Out: Events on Halloween Day and Night

Halloween at Stubby's Sports Bar & Grill, celebrations at Gavilan College and Christopher High School and daytime fun in Casa de Fruta are all taking place on Monday.

Looking for something to do around town this Halloween? Well, look no further because Patch has done the research, and compiled a list of six fun things to do around town on Monday. Happenings include fun for the kiddies, teens and adults with events happening during the day and into the evening. Choose an event or three, and have a memorable Halloween!

HALLOWEEN BASH AT GAVILAN COLLEGE

When/Where: Monday, Oct. 31 at Gavilan's student center, located at 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: An afternoon of games, costumes and socializing. There will be a costume contest, a "decorate your own caramel apple" stand and raffles.

HALLOWEEN FUN DAY AT CHRISTOPHER HIGH SCHOOL

When/Where: Monday, Oct. 31 at Christopher High School, located at 850 Day Rd.

Why Go: There will be games, contests and prizes during brunch and lunch, and  the school's annual Spooktacular Costume Parade and Contest. Students and staff are encouraged to wear their costumes to school, and can signup for the contest at lunch time. There will also be a pumpkin carving contest.

Price: Free

HALLOWEEN AT STUBBY's SPORTS BAR & GRILL

Where/When: Monday, Oct. 31 at Stubby's Sports Bar & Grill, located at 707 First Street.

Why Go: There will be specials on beer and mixed drinks, as well as some spooky drinks created by the bartenders. Potential attendees are encouraged to dress up, as there will be a costume contest with trophies awarded for best, scariest and funniest costume. There will also be raffles and a live band.

Price: no cover.

12TH ANNUAL CORN MAZE

When/Where: Monday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Swank Farms, located at 2600 San Felipe Rd. in Hollister.

Why Go: It's the Swank Farms 12 Annual Corn Maze. There will be a pumpkin patch and a kiddy corral—perfect for burning off some energy before trick-or-treating with the kids.

Price: $6 for a kiddy corral and spookley maze pass

PUMPKIN JUNTION IN CASA DE FRUTA

When/Where: 6680 Pacheco Pass Hwy. in Casa de Fruta, Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: There will be pumpkins and a chance to mine for gemstones at Casa de Miner's Sluice. Kids can also ride the Casa de Choo Choo and take a spin on the Casa de Carousel!

Price: Free

DAY OF THE DEAD AT CHRISTOPHER HIGH SCHOOL

When/Where: Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Christopher High School library, located at 850 Day Rd., from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Why Go: OK, so it's not on Halloween, but it's pretty close. There will be live entertainment by student performers, dancing and free food.
