Get Out in Gilroy: Beer Festival, '101 Dalmatians' and More

Thursday Night dancing, Urban Art, 101 pups and beer—all within your reach this weekend in the Gilroy area.

 

Where/When: Gilroy High School Theater, Friday, 7 p.m. 

Why Go: Presented by the Gilroy Recreation Department and Push Arts and Fitness, the 101 Dalmatians kids show opens Friday night for the first of six shows at Gilroy High over the next two weeks. The mini musical aims to be fun for the entire family.

Where/When: Gilroy Center for the Arts, 7341 Monterey St, Gilroy, Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

Why Go: The market offers local and organic produce as well as other services such as body soaps and lotions, olive oil, honey and baked goods. Now entering its second month, the Farmers Market is in full bloom, giving guests a wide array of items to browse through and buy.

Where/When: Aptos Village Park, 100 Aptos Creek Rd.
Aptos, Saturday, 12:30-5 p.m. 

Why Go: What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than to sample beers from breweries all over the region. Local favorite Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery will be in attendance along with more than 50 other craft brews on tap and plenty of live music.

Where/When: Callaghan Park, 225 Sudden St., Watsonville, Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. 

Why Go: Try your hand at painting, chalk drawing and stencils. Presented by Pajaro Valley Arts Council and the city of Watsonville Parks and Community Services Department, this fun-filled afternoon of free art workshops and entertainment is for youth of all ages.

Where/When: Third Street Promenade (between Monterey Road and Depot Stree, Morgan Hill, Thursday, 7 - 9 p.m.

Why Go: Dance to some great local bands and do some shopping at the various arts & crafts vendors and at the downtown stores. Or dine at one of the 28 great restaurants in the area.
