Get Out in Gilroy: Garage Sale Days, a Petting Zoo at Gilroy Gardens and More

Fun for the Kids at Gilroy Gardens, Gilroy High football and a local 9/11 tribute.

Where/When: 7351 Rosanna St., Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where/When: Gilroy Center for the Arts, 7341 Monterey St., Sunday, noon to 4 pm. 

Why Go: The market offers local and organic produce as well as other services such as body soaps and lotions, olive oil, honey and baked goods. Now entering its second month, the Farmers Market is in full bloom, giving guests a wide array of items to browse through and buy.

Where/When: , 7050 Miller Ave, Gilroy, CA. Sunday, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: A public rememberance ceremony commemorating the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at the Christmas Hill Park Amphitheater. Presenters include members of the Gilroy Police and Fire Departments as well as guest speaker Jim Uhey, a chaplain and a Natural Disaster Relief Specialist.

Where/When: Gilroy Gardens, 3050 Hecker Pass Hwy, Gilroy, CA. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Why Go: Goats, ducks, chickens and pigs all sized just for the little ones plus ponies from mini to medium for your child's first trail ride. Additional charges do apply for Pony rides and petting zoo.

Pricing: Park Admission $44.99. Online ticket special $29.99. 

Where/When: , 750 W 10th St, Gilroy, CA. Friday, 7:30 p.m. 

Why Go: After a wild 56-37 victory over Live Oak in the season opener, the Gilroy High football team hosts Saratoga high this Friday night. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m at Gilroy High. Saratoga was shutout 10-0 in week one against Burlingame High.
