Get Out in Gilroy: Karaoke, Live Music and the Strawberry Festival

Head down Highway 152 and check out the annual Strawberry festival, enjoy live music in downtown Gilroy or just take the kids to Gilroy Gardens for a weekend day of fun.

Where/When: City Plaza, W Beach St & Main St, Watsonville, CA 95076, Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 7 pm. 

Why Go: The 17th annual Watsonville Strawberry Festival at Monterey Bay will be held in downtown Watsonville this weekend. Come enjoy live music, local arts and crafts and, of course, yummy strawberry cuisine.

Where/When: 11775 Watsonville Rd, Gilroy, CA, Friday, 6 pm to 9 pm. 

Why Go: FourWayFree will be performing this week so come out and enjoy great music, wine and food. Mingle with your fellow residents and unwind properly to start your weekend off right.  

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Gilroy Gardens, Friday through Sunday. Show times at 1 pm and 3 pm at Lakeside Amphitheater in the park. 

Why Go: The Wild Thing from the popular kids book Where the Wild Things Are will entertain the crowd with songs, dancing, games and of course, a little Spanish. Bring the family out and see this one of a kind performance before it's too late. 

Pricing: Park admission for adults is $44.99, kids $34.99. There is also an online ticket special for $29.99.

Where/When: Race start line is at Alexander and Union St. in downtown Watsonville. Start time for the first race is 3:30 pm on Saturday. The final race begins at 5:20 pm. 

Why Go: The inaugural cycling race coincides with the annual Strawberry Festival in Watsonville. Sponsored by California Giant Berry Farms, the race will feature over 200 cyclists as they buzz through the streets of Watsonville. 

Pricing: Free

Where/When: 7554 Monterey Street, Thursday and Saturday, 9:30 pm until closing. 

Why Go: If the club afterparty isn't exactly your scene, head out to Gilroy Bowl and make your own music fun on Karaoke night. Break your high score and bust out your favorite 80's rock anthem with some friends this week. 

Pricing: Free, except if you buy drinks.
