Home for the Holidays

Homeless dogs and cats get a helping hand this holiday season.

The South Bay has hundreds of homeless animals right now, according to the Humane Society Silicon Valley, and six shelters in Santa Clara County are working together to find homes for them during the month of December.

Here's just two.

Meet Mason, a 1-year-old border collie/kelpie mix who is ready for adventure. Mason is a smart dog who’s already learned the commands “sit,” “down” and “shake,” and he can obviously learn more. He would thrive in agility or dog sports, because he loves activities that challenge his mind and strengthen the bond between him and his people. If you’re looking for an active, intelligent and loving best friend, Mason is the guy for you. Click here to see a video of Mason in action.

Misty, a lovely feline, is a 7-year-old Maine coon mix. She can be shy when she first meets you but warms up once she gets to know you. She prefers to keep her paws on the ground instead of being picked up, but she dearly loves to be petted. She would thrive in a home where she would be able to lounge around and relax.
