Readers' Choice: Best Place to Grab BBQ for Memorial Day

You get to pick: Where's the best place around town to get some barbecue for Memorial Day?

In this week's Readers' Choice poll, we're looking for the best local place to get barbecue for Memorial Day. Whether you're staying right here in Gilroy or perhaps trekking to a neighboring town, where do you like to go to get your 'cue on?

Here are some Gilroy BBQ joints that come to mind, but let us know in the comments if we're forgetting your fave place and we'll add it to the list:

Some finger-lickin' out-of-town BBQers include Maverick BBQ Restaurant Lounge in Hollister, L & L Hawaiian Barbeque in San Jose and Aptos St. Barbeque

Rate these businesses by taking our poll, and let your favorite BBQ joint know why you love 'em by posting in the comments section.

If you know of a piquant pit located nearby, you can vote for it at Watsonville PatchCampbell Patch or Cupertino Patch.

The winner of this poll will be determined using a point system based on the most verified votes together with the best ratings in each business' directory listings. If there’s a tie, the business with the highest number of positive reviews in the listings and comments in the Readers' Choice article will be declared the winner.

Voting results posted in real time shall not be deemed official until Patch has reviewed and confirmed all of the votes.

Voting is open until 9 a.m. Friday and the winner, announced around noon, will receive a "Readers' Choice 2012" certificate.

So, which one is it going to be? Vote for your favorite place to get BBQ around town, especially for Memorial Day, and make sure to tell us in the comments section why it's the best.

It just don't matter how she dresses, whoo her parents are or aren't. Nobody and I mean Nobody hasRead More the right to rape or force a femsle to have sex with her,and then to make matters worse, they posted pictures of her on facebook ! Better we as a community should be asking, what would possess the young guys to do something like this ! That is why We have Our teenagers and kids passwords or no internet period ! As a parent my heart goes out to het and her parents !

The offensive comment we're discussing shows a complete lack of respect for women that permeates ourRead More culture. That this person actually thought this poor young girl had culpability for her attack is a symptom of our societies disregard for women. I'm actually glad he made the comment so we can look at and discuss the problem.

From one of the interviews I watched online, it seems that many Saratoga High students knew whatRead More happened at the party and had seen the pictures. How is it that arrests did not follow the assault and the suicide for over 6 months? Could it be that the students who knew information about the felony chose to remain silent? I hope that is not the case; we will surely find out as the details of the case are revealed in the media over the next weeks and months. In the meantime lets make sure we are teaching our kids about the responsibility of living in community and caring about others. God forbid that any of the students have to live with the knowledge that they could have prevented the suicide, or with the knowledge that they helped cover up such a heinous crime.
