SNAPSHOTS: Thousands Attend Annual Christmas Parade

There was everything from Santa, to dressed-up dogs and horses at the annual Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony.

An estimated 2,000 people turned out to catch the in downtown Gilroy.

The parade lasted from 3 to 7 p.m., and attendees had plenty to see.

The festivities began with some booths full of Christmas items and performances by local bands and choirs. There was also a "Doggy Dress-up" contest with more than a handful of furry participants.

Saturday evening came to a close after the Christmas parade, and a visit from Santa at BookSmart Kids.
