Get Out in Gilroy: Theater, Music, a Triathlon (for Kids) and Community TV

It's your last weekend to see Limelight Theater Actors in their latest play! Check out music on Fifth Street, a triathlon for kids, classes on making television from CMAP and a free museum day—our suggestions to Get Out this weekend in and around Gilroy.

Where/When: Gilroy High School Pool, 750 W. 10th St., Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. 

Why Go: Get your kids started exercising and living a healthy life now! Take them to the triathlon and let them swim, bike and run. The event includes a race packet, a T-shirt and a goody bag.

Why Go: Bing your own dinner to this two-act comedy. “Norman, Is That You?” is set in present day New York City, and we watch Ben Chambers live his life as his family goes through a series of unexpected events. After his wife leaves him, and his brother betrays him, he goes to New York to share the news with his son, Norman. That’s where he finds the surprises have just begun! Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Where/When: 7503 Monterey St. at Fifth Street, Friday 7-9 p.m. 

Why Go: Enjoy live music with your friends and families. There will be dancing in the street in Gilroy! Bring your own chairs to have somewhere to sit when you don't want to dance.

Where/When: The Tech Museum of Innovation, 201 S. Market St., San Jose, Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

For a family, that's quite a savings. See the Tech's new Challenge Gallery and explore fun, interactive exhibits. Ride the Earthquake Platform and play with Robots. These days do not include admission to IMAX or to special exhibitions.
