UPDATED: Missing Boy Found Unharmed

He was reunited with his family after the investigation concluded.

Update 10:19 p.m.: The missing boy has been found unharmed.

According to police, he was found at 9:50 p.m. in an unincorporated area. He was alert and did not need medical attention.

He is being returned to his parents "when the investigation concludes," police said.

"The Gilroy Police Department wishes to thank the community members, media and Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office and their Search & Rescue Team for the assistance they provided which resulted with the child being located," police said.

Brenden Hartsock, a 10-year-old, autistic boy is missing from Gilroy and the situation is considered urgent, according to an alert sent out by the Gilroy Police Department Friday evening.

Hartsock is 5'3", 146 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a Native American headband, royal blue shirt, blue basketball shorts and grey tennis shoes. 

He has been missing since 5:30 p.m. and was last seen in the area of Monterey Road and IOOF Avenue. 

According to the police department, he is in need of medication. 

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office is currently searching for Hartsock with a helicopter.
