YMCA Worker Arrested on Sexual Abuse Charge

Nicholas Lhermine, 20, of Morgan Hill, is accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old.

Written by Bay City News:

A child care worker for the YMCA in Morgan Hill was arrested after a 6-year-old girl alleged that he forced her to engage in a sexual act last week, Morgan Hill police said.

Nicolas Lhermine, 20, of Morgan Hill, was taken into custody Friday, the same day that the child claimed the inappropriate conduct occurred, police Capt. Shane Palsgrove said.

The incident allegedly happened as Lhermine was supervising the girl while working as a YMCA child care provider inside a portable classroom at Paradise Valley Elementary School in Morgan Hill, Palsgrove said.

Lhermine, who had been employed by the YMCA for four years in various positions, violated YMCA policies by being alone with the girl, Palsgrove said.

A police investigation also revealed that Lhermine possessed pornographic photos of a teenager, Palsgrove said.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office has charged Lhermine with committing a sexual act with a child 10 years old or younger and of possession of child pornography, Palsgrove said.

Lhermine's arraignment on the charges is set for Wednesday in Santa Clara County Superior Court in Morgan Hill, Palsgrove said.

The YMCA will be contacting parents of children who may have been in contact with Lhermine to urge them to report any further allegations, Palsgrove said.
