Gilroy Best Western Gets Top Honors for Customer Care

The local branch of the international chain has its own Facebook page, blog and mascot.

Apparently if you don't send your out-of-town guests to Gilroy Best Wester Forest Park Inn, you're making a big mistake.

The local hotel, one of over 4,000 Best Westerns worldwide, was one of five honored for its customer care at the Best Western International Convention and Global Conference this month.

Along with four other Best Westerns, the Gilroy branch was nominated for the Best Fan Award 2012.

"We were announced as a nominee ... where all 2,500 Best Western members were present," said Jasmina Patel, hotel proprietor. "I personally felt very proud and was very excited when they announced our property. It shows that all the hard work and the ideas we implement are acknowledged not only by our guests, but by the brand as well."

To be nominated, each branch had to show special recognition for its guests. This past year, Gilroy's Best Western gave away gift baskets every day, established a Facebook page and a blog with local tips and attractions. Most unique of all, they created a new mascot for the Gilroy hotel, Ranger Roy, who serves as local tour guide to guests.
