This week we're asking readers to vote for the best theater company around town—and Gilroy has many to choose from.

This week we're asking readers to name the best theater company around town. Gilroy may be a tad isolated with its location on the outskirts of Santa Clara County, but the city's full of musical and non-musical productions.

Multiple theater companies offering a diverse mix of performances are located around town. Here's a few companies that come to mind off the bat:

The newest playhouse to take stage in Gilroy is . Founded in January 2011, Limelight founders Kevin Heath and Alan Obata add a unique—and pocket-book friendly—dimension to their showings by offering Bring Your Own (BYO) style performances. Theater-goers are encouraged to watch performances with packed meals and wine in hand.

Heath and obata pump plays out on a monthly basis, with "Run for Your Wife" scheduled to premier in late June. 

The works of Odyssey Theatre Company, which utilize student actors, can be seen at the Gilroy High School Theater and Christopher High School Black Box Theater.

Odyssey's mission is, "To provide a continuum of arts education experiences for students and to serve as a resource for the teachers in the ," according to the company's website. Plays appearing at have included "," which premiered in November, and "" graced Gilroy High's stage in October.

Pintello Comedy Theater is run by Rod and Marion Pintello, their son Simon, daughter Whitney and Whitney's children Shelby and Mary. The family has produced four plays since Pintello was founded in 1995, and has been teaming up with local wineries to offer vino at their shows, their website states. 

Gilroy Children’s Musical Theater offers high quality musicals with children actors between the ages of 5 and 21 years old. Artistic Director and Founder John Bisceglie has choreographed hundreds of community, commercial and professional productions since 1985. The musical "" premiered in October and  took stage in April. 

South Valley Civic Theater is located just a short drive away in Morgan Hill. Formerly named the Gilroy Community Theater, South Valley offers high quality, big-production musicals and non-musicals, Heath states in his .

With the abundance of theatrical talent in Gilroy, it's hard to decide which company is the best of the best. Which one do you think consistently puts on the best show? 

The winner of this poll will be determined using a point system based on the most verified votes together with the best ratings in each business' directory listings. If there’s a tie, the business with the highest number of positive reviews in the listings and comments in the Readers' Choice article will be declared the winner.
