Hospice of the Valley Names Senior Director of Business Development

Kieran Shah joins nonprofit to expand healthcare relationships

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 3, 2014 –Hospice of the Valley has named Kieran Shah senior director of business development. Shah is tasked with expanding relationships for Hospice of the Valley and the new Palliative Care Center Silicon Valley with Santa Clara County healthcare providers and community partners.

He previously was the CEO/president of Shah Consulting, a healthcare consulting firm specializing in business development, referral generation, organizational growth, vertical integration and network partnership.

Most recently, Shah was senior director of business development for Nathan Adelson Hospice, the largest nonprofit hospice in Southern Nevada. Shah was actively involved in the creation, development and implementation of the iRefer DR application for hospices nationally, helping advance hospice’s marketability and technology-forward approach through iRefer DR.

Prior to that, Shah served as a recruiter for the Nevada Cancer Institute. He also was a former senior staffing consultant and division director at Robert Half International.

“Through his proven ability to establish and sustain strong client relationships as well as mentor and lead successful business development teams, Kieran is a recognized leader in both the U.S. and UK markets,” said Sally Adelus, president and CEO of Hospice of the Valley. “We are delighted to have him on board.”

“I knew the excellent reputation of Hospice of the Valley as an innovative industry leader and the amazing impact the organization was making on palliative and end-of-life care,” Shah said. “I wanted to be a part of the team, to learn from the best, and to provide the best care.”

Shah is a faculty consultant for Hospice University, a national training university focused in hospice and healthcare marketing. He holds a B.A. in business management from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.
