Blog Claims UFO Sighting in Gilroy

A string of fast-moving lights passed over gilroy on Sept. 5 and a leading paranormal blog is speculating that it was possibly a group of UFOs.

On Sept. 5, a Gilroy family stepped outside their house to see a string of mysterious flying objects high in the sky.

GhostTheory.com, which describes itself as "one of the web's leading paranormal websites," shared video from the Gilroy sighting on Monday, explaining the following:

Most of the videos that make it to my inbox are so obviously fake or easily explainable. This new video from Gilroy, California just doesn’t seem to fit in those two categories. When I see a video that shows a string of lights floating high up in the sky, I immediately assume they are lanterns or flares. Trust me, I’ve seen my share of these videos. [Lanterns'] distinguishable fiery glow can be seen from a distance.

On Wednesday Sept. 5, 2012, residents of Gilroy witnessed a strange series of bright (white) lights traveling in a single-line flight pattern. No FAA-required blinking red lights are visible.

The video, uploaded to YouTube, which can be watched by hitting the play button above, is entitled "Up to the Minute Mass UFO Sighting, September 5, 2012, Gilroy, California." Included in the 44 comments on the video are many who buy into the idea that it was indeed a UFO flyover.

"I hate when people say 'What is that?!' You already know in your gut what it is. Just accept it," commenter Ctube29 wrote.

"A non-believer will find ANY excuse to fill in that gap of ignorance," wrote commenter OmegaUfoChannel. "We won't be able to sway them until they see them for themselves. Even then, they may continue to say 'Chinese lanterns.'"

Google searches turn up several other videos claiming to be UFO sightings in Gilroy over the last few months.

What do you think the mysterious lights were? Did you see them? Do you believe in aliens? Tell us in the comments!

It just don't matter how she dresses, whoo her parents are or aren't. Nobody and I mean Nobody hasRead More the right to rape or force a femsle to have sex with her,and then to make matters worse, they posted pictures of her on facebook ! Better we as a community should be asking, what would possess the young guys to do something like this ! That is why We have Our teenagers and kids passwords or no internet period ! As a parent my heart goes out to het and her parents !

The offensive comment we're discussing shows a complete lack of respect for women that permeates ourRead More culture. That this person actually thought this poor young girl had culpability for her attack is a symptom of our societies disregard for women. I'm actually glad he made the comment so we can look at and discuss the problem.

From one of the interviews I watched online, it seems that many Saratoga High students knew whatRead More happened at the party and had seen the pictures. How is it that arrests did not follow the assault and the suicide for over 6 months? Could it be that the students who knew information about the felony chose to remain silent? I hope that is not the case; we will surely find out as the details of the case are revealed in the media over the next weeks and months. In the meantime lets make sure we are teaching our kids about the responsibility of living in community and caring about others. God forbid that any of the students have to live with the knowledge that they could have prevented the suicide, or with the knowledge that they helped cover up such a heinous crime.
