Looking for something to do around town this weekend? Well, look no further because Patch has done the research, and compiled a list of five fun things to do around town over the weekend.

Gibson Open Mic

When/Where: The Music Academy, located at 7600 Church St., from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Why Go: Gordon Gibson is holding an open mic session to give local guitarists a chance to perform live in front of an audience. Professional and non-professional guitarists are welcome. Attendees can also listen to others perform. Performers must use at least one guitar.

When/Where: The Gilroy Center for the Arts, located at 7341 Monterey St., from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Why Go: The center for the arts is offering locals a chance to learn about their local Ohlone history. Guest speakers include Velentin Lopez, tribal chairman of the Amah Mutsun Band of Ohlone indians.

When/Where: At the Westside Grill, located at 8080 Santa Teresa Blvd. on Saturday.

Who Go: If you're going to catch the Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road, at 9Lives on Saturday, you might as well get dinner beforehand. Westside Grill is offering 10 percent off on dinner for guests who are planning to attend the Abbey Road concert. Just mention you're attending the Beatles tribute show to get 10 percent off.

Karaoke at Station 55

When/Where: At Station 55, located at 55 5th St., from 6 to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

Why Go: It's not just karaoke, it's family karaoke! Bring the kids down to Station 55 and belt out some family tunes together. If you get hungry while singing, you can always order some tasty apps from their menu.

Price: Free

Karaoke at Gilroy Bowl

When/Where: at Gilroy Bowl, located at 7554 Monterey Street, 9 p.m. to close on Friday and Saturday.

Why Go: Attendees will have the chance to not only participate in Karaoke, but to also bowl. There's even food from Scotty's "Ohana" Family Restaurant available for those who work up an appetite.

Price: $3.50 per person, per game and $2.75 for shoe rentals.
