Magnitude 3.2 Earthquake Shakes Gilroy and Morgan Hill

The quake woke up residents in south county Wednesday.

Eighty people reported feeling the ground shake on the United States Geological Survey website Wednesday after a 3.2 earthquake rocked southern Santa Clara County.

The temblor hit seven miles northeast of Gilroy and eight miles east southeast of Morgan Hill at 2:52 a.m. along the Calaveras Fault. 

A total of 23 people from Gilroy and 23 people from Morgan Hill reported feeling the earthquake, while another 17 from around the state said the same.
