Three Earthquakes Shake Gilroy

From 10:15 Monday until 6:45 Tuesday, there were three earthquakes in the area.

A trio of earthquakes hit the same exact spot in a 20-hour period starting late Monday night.

At 10:44 p.m. on April 29, a magnitude 3.0 earthquake hit eight miles ESE of Gilroy.

A total of 29 people reported feeling that earthquake on the U.S. Geological Survey website, including three people from Gilroy, one from Morgan Hill and 12 from Hollister.

The next evening, two small earthquakes followed in the same spot. At 5:11 p.m. Tuesday, a 1.2 quake made small waves in the area followed by another 1.2 at 6:44. 

No one reported feeling either of the smaller shakes on the USGS site.

All three earthquakes fell right on the Calaveras Fault.
