COYOTE LAKE HIKE

Join us for journey on the Mummy Mountain Trail that climbs up 500 feet to the highest point in the park and offers panoramic views of the area. Along the way, we will learn about the Ohlone Indians and stop at the summit to taste some of the food they ate for thousands of years. We travel back down along Coyote Ridge Trail with views of the lake, Gilroy and San Martin. This is a four–mile strenuous hike on sunny fire roads and shady forested single track trails past sandstone boulders, meadows, oak trees, bay laurels and flowers. Socialize during a group picnic lunch at the end of the hike. Lunch is provided.

Registration is required, please visit: http://www.bayareaolderadults.org/2014-bao-hikes   and scroll down to Hike 5.  Sponsored by Bay Area Older Adults, a nonprofit organization that improves the health and well-being of adults age 50+.
