I really believe that simple pleasures are the best, like walking down the sidewalk and seeing this little guy in his rain gear. Noticing how the fields seem to vibrate during this time of year, as they're full of bright yellow and green mustard colors.
How it smells after it rains, the feeling of warm water washing over my hands as I do the morning dishes and taking a hot bath, with fresh flowers and a glowing candle creating shadows that dance on the tiles, are enjoyable but simple.
Looking at the delicious colors of my paints when I set up my palette, before I dismantle them with my brush. The sounds the bristles make as I drag them here and there over my canvas and then seeing an image come to be.
The beautiful full shapes of fresh picked oranges, some have their stems and leaves attached, draping around them like a green scarf. I know I will never run out of things to paint as long as I stop long enough to take a look at ordinary things.
When simple things are noticed, it makes the day brighter.
