Viewers can watch the games on CMAP's cable access channel 19 on Charter, and games will also be available online.

You don't need cable to watch the games via CMAP's Channel 19 online stream at http://origin.peg.tv/pegtv_player?id=T01268&video=10249

All local high school football games are available for purchase on DVDs (individual games or the entire season) by contacting our programming manager Jan Janes at CMAP.

Since I'm an avid baseball fan, I needed the cliff-note version of the upcoming football playoffs. Here's a quick overview below given by our CMAP Sports/Production Coordinator, Robert Enriquez, of Gilroy:

"Playoffs are divided by divisions based on school population. Division 1 being a large school, and Division IV being a very small school.

The Open Division is considered the "Elite Division," meaning if a team achieves certain bench marks they get power points. Earn enough power points and a team can choose to play in the Open Division.

The benefit of playing in the Open Division is that if you win the final game the team has a high chance of representing the North in the State Championship.  The CCS open division is considered one of the best sections in Northern California."

Thanks, Robert. Best of luck to all of our local teams!! Onward to STATE!
