CMAP TV: Welcome to Your Community Media Center

CMAP TV: Your Community Media Center How can you use the media and technology resources of CMAP, a community media center serving southern Santa Clara County and San Benito County?

I'm Kathy Bisbee, executive director at CMAP, a community media center and public-, educational- and government-access television station serving the media and technology needs of southern Santa Clara County and all of San Benito County. Thank you to Patch.com and Eric Gneckow for his partnership with our organization.

In addition to keeping Patch readers up-to-date on CMAP's classes, locally produced programming and positive activities for our youth, I plan to share links and write about interesting international issues and tools in media and technology, available for teachers, government officials, businesses, students and nonprofit organizations.

I will post new CMAP content here at least once a week so that the Patch community can view some of our best community-television programming.

But did you know that CMAP is more than a TV station and that you don't need cable to see CMAP? CMAP's programming is now available online at www.cmap.tv so you don't need cable in order to watch our local television shows.

We're growing  into a community media center, by expanding to consider how we can offer local residents more than just the ability to take our classes and use our equipment and TV studio. We want to serve all of your media and technology needs.

What are those media and technology needs? Tech classes? Job-training programs for adults and youth? Positive, alternative activities for youth that provide life skills? We got you covered. Let us know what other kinds of community-based programs you think that CMAP should offer, and we'll consider every suggestion!

We also offer low-cost, PBS-style professional video productions, from-script-to-screen, for nonprofit organizations and government agencies, and soon will offer this to commercial businesses. Our staff has been regionally and nationally recognized for its high-quality productions and has worked professionally in L.A, San Francisco, San Jose, NYC and internationally!
