FEATURED BLOG: Now Online: Full Coverage of Local High School Football Games

Watch weekly football games ONLINE at cmap.tv featuring the Gilroy High Mustangs, the Christopher High Cougars and the San Benito High Balers.

Community Media Access Partnership provides LIVE coverage at every 2011 home football game for all three local high schools in Gilroy and San Benito County: the Gilroy High Mustangs, Christopher High Cougars and the San Benito High Balers.

This content will be aired on CMAP's public access and educational channels, Charter cable channels 19 and 20, and the schedule is available at www.cmap.tv. Each game will be posted online in its entirety after the game, and can be shared with all local residents, and friends and family through the link on CMAP's website.

Games are professionally-produced each Friday night by CMAP staff and volunteers and include informative sports announcers, motion graphics and quality video and audio. Just recently CMAP's high school football coverage has been recognized at the regional level as a finalist in the prestigious WAVE (Western Access Video Excellence) awards.

These near-weekly football games are shot by a dedicated crew of volunteers that include high school and college students and adult volunteers. CMAP staff directs the volunteers and uses each game as a live video production training opportunity.

These football games provide a wealth of community content, featuring the talent of local athletes and their schools, as well as providing viewing opportunities for family members locally and across the world. Additionally, this local programming provides a 21st Century job training program for youth and adults to learn multimedia, live video production, directing, sportscasting, lighting, audio, as well as technical directing opportunities. Participants learn how to work as a team, manage technical and logistical challenges, think critically and creatively and work with community partners.

Many volunteers have completed these job-training programs at CMAP through their work at the football games. Local businesses can sponsor CMAP's football program through a donation, receiving an underwriting spot for their support of the program.
