BLOG: Save the Environment by Eliminating Toll Bridges

There is a simple way to relieve traffic congestion and eliminate millions of tons of carbon from the air, and we can save money doing it. Can it really be so simple? Yes it can.

All we would have to do is eliminate toll bridges where people sit in traffic for hours every week with their engines idling just to pay a tax. Is this the best way to collect taxes? I don't think so.

If we eliminated toll booths and replaced it with a gas tax, then those drives might save us about half a hour every day and all that gas burned sitting in traffic would be saved.

Seems to me it would be a lot smarter to pay taxes at the pump when the car is already stopped than at the toll booth.
