Charles ‘Chuck’ Edward Anderson: Former director of the Central Coast Counties Police Academy in Gilroy for seven years. Died Sept. 28. He was 70.

William David Auser: A Gilroy native and 1955 graduate of Gilroy High School. He is survived by his wife Beverly of 55 years. He died Oct. 10. He was 74.  

Howard Basch: A Navy veteran who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, American Defense Ribbon, European- North Africa Middle East Ribbon, Asia-Pacific Ribbon and three air medals. Former general manager at Gentry’s in Gilroy. Died Sept. 11. He was 93.

Ryan Everly: A Gilroy native and graduate of Gilroy High School. Died Oct. 12. He was 35.

Margarita Hernandez: A resident of Gilroy who attended Live Oak Adult Day Services. She is survived by three children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Died Oct. 6. She was 99.

Ramiro (Ray)  Mirelez: He worked for California Canners and Growers for 42 years and, after retirement, enjoyed fishing trips on Lake Shasta with his cannery buddies. Died Oct. 4 at the Gilroy home of his daughter Annie Tomasello. He was 85.
