$430,000 Worth of Methamphetamine Recovered

Santa Clara County sheriff's officers discovered the drugs after Friday traffic stop.

Officers from the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office discovered 39 pounds of methamphetamine “stashed in various hidden compartments” of a car around 10 p.m. Friday after a traffic stop near highways 101 and 152 in Gilroy.

"It is unusual for this quantity of meth to be discovered in a car," said sheriff's spokesman, Sgt. Rick Sung.

The drugs are reportedly worth $430,000 locally.
