4.6 Earthquake Rolls Through South County

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake as starting four miles from Pinnacles.

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake rattled residents in the South Valley and beyond Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake originated four miles from Pinnacles at 12:14 a.m., according to the USGS.

California residents as far as Beverly Hills reported feeling the quake on the agency’s “Did You Feel It?–Tell Us!” website. One reported feeling the quake in Gilroy.

No injuries or damage were reported after the quake, said Heinz Maibaum, a firefighter/paramedic from the Gilroy Fire Department.
