Armed Robber Steals Meds from Walmart

A woman claiming to have a weapon took prescription drugs on Friday.

For the , Gilroy's Walmart has become the target of armed robbery.

On Friday at approximately 9 p.m., a female estimated at 55- to 65-years-old entered the store and went to the pharmacy where she demanded prescription drugs, Sgt. Robert Locke-Paddon said in a prepared statement.

The suspect threatened the clerk with a weapon she claimed to have concealed in her sweatshirt, and then left the superstore with an undisclosed amount of medicine. According to Locke-Paddon, the woman did not make demands for money and no one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is still at large, and was last seen walking south in front of Walmart, Locke-Paddon said.

She is described as five-foot-three and 120 to 130 pounds. She was wearing a grey sweatshirt, grey pants and a blue surgical mask.
