Authorities Review Underwater Images Taken Around LaMar Home

Authorities are reviewing underwater images taken around the LaMar home in an attempt to find clues leading them to the missing teen, and will be sending deputies out on dirt bikes to canvass rural South County areas.

Personnel from the county’s underwater search and rescue units are currently reviewing sonar images taken in bodies of water around Sierra LaMar’s home in an attempt to find suspicious objects that could lead them to the missing Morgan Hill teen.

Sonar images detect objects below the surface levels of reservoirs, and the images that are currently being reviewed were taken earlier this week from the Chesbro and Uvas Reservoirs, police announced Tuesday. Authorities are reportedly concentrating on the Chesbro and Uvas reservoirs because they’re close to Sierra's mother's home.

“When the analysis of the imagery is complete, Sheriff’s divers will be sent in later this week to investigate any suspicious objects that were detected via sonar,” Sgt. Jose Cardoza of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a prepared statement.

ATVs were used in a search on March 31 when deputies scoured the South County Coyote Creek Trail (Cochrane Road in Morgan Hill to Bernal Road in San Jose) for evidence.

Aside from searching bodies of water, remote, rural areas in the South County area will be canvassed as well. The Sheriff’s Office off-road enforcement team will be sending deputies out on dirt bikes to scan remote areas for possible crime scenes or items of evidentiary value, Cardoza wrote.

The deputies are expected to begin their searches later this week.
