Bryan Stow's Family Marks 2 Years Since Severe Beating at Giants Game

Last Sunday marked two years since San Francisco Giants fan Bryan Stow was critically injured in an attack after a Los Angeles Dodgers game in 2011, and Stow's family wrote this week about marking the unfortunate anniversary.

Stow, a Santa Cruz-area paramedic and father of two, was beaten by two men outside Dodger Stadium after the Giants' opening day game on March 31, 2011.

He suffered a severe head injury and remains in a rehabilitation facility.

His family has been updating his recovery on a website, www.support4bryanstow.com, and made their most recent post on Monday, April 1.

"Yesterday was a very emotional day," the family wrote. "March 31, 2011 our lives were forever changed. We find it hard to believe that two years has gone by ... it feels like a lifetime ago."

They wrote, "We look at Bryan and see how much he's overcome in those two years. He amazes us daily and even though he doesn't see how far he's come, we do. "The obstacles Bryan and our family face now are so different than what we faced before, but they're still there and we will get through them together," the family wrote.

"We still don't know how things will be in the next two years but we do know this -- No matter what, Bryan has us by his side every step of the way."

Stow has received widespread support from the community as well as the Giants, whose third base coach played a series of concerts in January that raised nearly $75,000 to go toward Stow's medical bills.

The two men arrested for Stow's beating, Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood, await trial in Los Angeles.
