Cal Fire Rescues Teens From Anderson Reservoir Dam

Cal Fire crews are rescuing three people who got stuck climbing the face of the Anderson Reservoir Dam just outside of Morgan Hill this afternoon, a Cal Fire battalion chief said. The three climbers were reported stuck about halfway up the face of the dam at about 2 p.m., Battalion Chief Brandon Leitzke said.

They realized they couldn't get back down the dam and either they or a bystander called for help, Leitzke said. As of about 3 p.m., two of the climbers had been pulled out with a helicopter and Cal Fire crews, with the assistance of responders from Morgan Hill, San Jose and Santa Clara County, were working to rescue the third.

So far no injuries had been reported. The climbers "just got themselves in a predicament," Leitzke said.
