Chevron Clerk Robbed at Gunpoint

On Dec. 4 at approximately 12:55 a.m., Gilroy Police officers were dispatched to a reported armed robbery at Chevron at 5887 Monterey Rd. Within minutes, officers arrived at the scene and began a search for the suspect who had fled on foot. Despite their efforts, officers were unable to locate the suspect. 

During the preliminary investigation, officers determined that the suspect confronted and threatened the clerk with a handgun. The suspect demanded money and merchandise from the clerk.

Fearing for his life, the clerk complied with the suspect’s demands and provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise. The suspect fled from the business on foot, eastbound through the parking lot to neighboring businesses. 

Shortly after the robbery, an early 2000s silver BMW or Honda four-door type vehicle was seen leaving the area. The Gilroy Police Department is working to verify the vehicle’s potential involvement with the robbery. 

The clerk was not injured during the robbery. The motive for the robbery remains under investigation. 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 20-25-years-old, five-feet-three-inches and 150 pounds wearing a dark mask and dark clothing.
