County DUI Arrests Total 80 From Weekend
Gilroy Police, and other law enforcement around Santa Clara County are participating in a crackdown on drunken driving and reporting arrest figures each day for 18 days.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, coordinated by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, are participating in a Summer/Labor Day National Anti-DUI crackdown and are in Day Five since the initiative began Friday.
Arrests occur during routine traffic enforcement and special "Avoid the 13" DUI deployments overnight in Santa Clara County, according to the Sheriff's Office.
In Gilroy alone, there were 18 DUI arrests between Aug. 17-19 with another three in Morgan Hill.

Funding for the program, which pays for extra police patrols, was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
All arrest numbers are provisional. Those agencies that have not yet reported by 9:35 a.m. are marked NR for "Not Reported."
