Crash Victim Identified as 20-Year-Old From San Martin

Kayleigh Booten was killed early Saturday in a single-vehicle accident.

A young woman killed early Saturday in a single-vehicle car accident in Gilroy has been identified as 20-year-old Kayleigh Booten, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office.

Booten, of the San Martin area north of Gilroy, was found injured in her car around 2:55 a.m. in the 8300 block of Monterey Street, Gilroy police said.

Paramedics who arrived at the accident scene near Leavesley Road told police that Booten's car had flipped over on its roof apparently after crashing into a sign with large posts, police said.

Booten, who had to be extricated from the car, was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police are still investigating the crash and are urging anyone with information about it to contact Gilroy police officer Eric Garcia at (408) 846-0350 or to give a tip anonymously at (800) 782-7463.
