Criminal Acts: Vandalism, Identity Theft and Robbery

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Monday through Thursday, from car accidents to thefts to vandalism. Here’s a selection from the latest press report. 

Thursday, Dec. 22
1:56 a.m.—A 21-year-old male was arrested for leading police on a vehicle pursuit after officers tried to pull him over for a vehicle code violation. He was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a meth-smoking pipe.

Wednesday, Dec. 21
10:18 p.m.—A case of identity theft was reported.

2 a.m.—A victim was robbed around the area of Rogers Lane and Sixth Street, and had his cell phone, wallet and money stolen.

Tuesday, Dec. 20
8:52 p.m.—A woman reported what she believed to be suspicious behavior. The woman said her computer hasn’t been working great, and attributes the malfunctioning computer to her ex-boyfriend who lives next door. She also said that she believes he is coming into her room and stealing items.

6:50 p.m.—A suspect made fraudulent charges to a victim’s credit card that resulted in almost $600.

Monday, Dec. 19
3:12 p.m.—A 21-year-old woman was arrested. She had been identified as a wanted person, and was found to have a warrant out for her arrest.

2:07 p.m.—Unknown suspects entered a residence on Monterey Street and stole $4,000 worth of jewelry.

4:55 a.m.—Two people were arrested for stealing, robbing and vandalizing a car. The victim and a witness saw the incident in progress, and were able to positively identify the suspects to police. The stolen items were partially recovered from one of the arrestee’s house.
