Criminal Acts: Drugged Teen, Starbucks Arrest and Indecent Exposure

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Thursday through Sunday, from assaults to thefts to graffiti. Here’s a selection from the latest press report. 
 
Sunday, June 17
11:04 p.m.—A 16-year-old was exhibiting signs of being under the influence of methamphetamine. Police located a cigar, marijuana, a marijuana-smoking pipe and a 2 inch switchblade in his possession.

4:20 p.m.—A neighbor’s dog broke through a fence on Farrell Avenue and bit a victim in the arm.

11:03 a.m.—Starbucks workers placed a 44-year-old man under citizen’s arrest after he refused to leave the coffee shop. The man was arrested and transported to county jail on the likelihood of recurrence.  

Saturday, June 16
9:38 p.m.—A 33-year-old man provided false identification to a police officer and was found to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The subject was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

6:07 p.m.—A person exposed himself to two female victims outside the Best Buy store on Camino Arroyo.

2:46 a.m.—Police observed a man driving a vehicle northbound on Monterey Street near the SP Depot with a fuel hose hanging from the gas tank area. Police stopped the 39-year-old driver and determined he was under the influence of alcohol. The man also had an outstanding warrant.

Friday, June 15
10 p.m.—A black, 1991 Honda Accord was stolen from Alexander Street.

9:58 p.m.—Officers responded to Murray Avenue on a report of possible elder abuse. The case has been referred to Adult Protective Services. 

5:40 p.m.—A suspect threatened a victim by placing a knife to his throat and grabbing him by the throat with his other hand.

11:25 a.m.—A suspect used a victim’s driver’s license information to rent a vehicle.

2:43 a.m.—A male driver was arrested for driving under the influence and for driving with a suspended license. A male passenger was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sales.
