Criminal Acts: Found Meth, Assault and More

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Thursday through Sunday, from burglary to assault to drug possession. Here’s a selection from the latest press report.

Sunday, Jan. 15
11:38 p.m.—A man was arrested for assaulting and threatening to kill a woman on Babbs Creek Drive. The arrestee grabbed onto the victim’s neck and threatened her. The victim was able to get away and call for police assistance.

6 p.m.—A vehicle was burglarized on David Court. An IBM laptop worth $2,000 was stolen.

2:11 p.m.—A 39-year-old male was arrested on Church Street for being in possession of cocaine for the purpose of sale and tear gas.

1:31 p.m.—A driver was stopped for speeding at First St. and Wren Ave. and police found that he had a license plate that was registered to another vehicle on the car. The driver was reportedly using the false license plate to avoid registration fees. The driver was also determined to be driving with a suspended license.

12:25 p.m.—Around 14.28 grams of meth were found at the Home Depot located on San Ysidro Avenue.

8 p.m.—A business on Chestnut Street was burglarized. Thousands of dollars worth of electronics were stolen.

Saturday, Jan. 14
8:15 p.m.—A victim was assaulted by two suspects on Westwood Drive.

12:28 p.m.—A victim reported that her boyfriend pulled her hair.
