Criminal Acts: Man Flees After Crashing Vehicle into House

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Monday through Wednesday, from car accidents to vandalism to fraud. Here’s a selection from the latest press report. 

Wed, Dec. 28
10:55 p.m.—A female juvenile was arrested on Church Street after she became violent and punched her mother and her mother’s friend several times.

6 p.m.—A vehicle theft was reported on Arroyo Circle. A black, 1998 Honda Civic was reportedly stolen.

10:02 a.m.—A suspect stole a vehicle on Eigleberry Street and ditched it at Pinocchio’s Pizza after hitting a traffic light pole on Monterey and Farrell.

8:30 a.m.—A home on Christine Court was vandalized. There was almost $500 worth of damage.

1:19 a.m.—A  20 year old was arrested for driving under the influence. The vehicle he was driving veered off the roadway and struck a power pole around the area of Thomas Road and Gage Court.

Tuesday, Dec. 27
10 p.m.—A 63-year-old woman was arrested for being drunk in public after her taxi drive called the police to assist her out of the cab. She was reportedly acting belligerent from extreme intoxication.

6:42 p.m.—A 42-year-old man crashed his vehicle into a house around the area of Grant Court and Murray Avenue, and then fled the scene. The driver caused major damage to the house, and was later located by police.

8 a.m.—Checks that were stolen out of a victim’s mailbox in October were recovered by Salinas police.

1:10 a.m.—A juvenile was arrested for possessing over 28.5 grams of marijuana.

Sunday, Dec. 25
10 p.m.—Two vehicles were vandalized around the area of Monterey Street. The damage amounts to around $5,000. Police believe the two vehicles may have been vandalized by the same suspects, and are currently investigating the incident.

1:38 p.m.—A victim left his ATM card in the ATM machine at Bank of America, and had it used by the suspect who intercepted it.
