Criminal Acts: Murder Threat, Loaded Handgun and Lottery-Ticket Burglar

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Monday through Thursday, from car accidents to thefts to assaults. Here’s a selection from the latest press report.

Wednesday, Jan. 25
1:29 a.m.—An unknown suspect broke the glass door of a business to gain entry, and stole $1,500 worth of lottery tickets.  

12:50 a.m.—Police went to a 22-year-old female’s house after her friends reported that she made suicidal threats on Facebook. While the officers were evaluating the woman, she made a direct threat to kill an officer. When the officer went to arrest her, she resisted arrest and had to be put in a body restraint.

Tuesday, Jan. 24
7:26 p.m.—A person drove their vehicle through the exterior wall of a building on Murray Avenue, and then fled the scene in the vehicle.

6:44 p.m.—A man punched a woman in the face, giving her a black eye, at their residence on Canopy Court.

Monday, Jan. 23
9 p.m.—Police were notified of a victim’s ex-boyfriend's plans to shoot her and then himself. The arrestee apparently still shares a home with his ex. The arrestee told a witness of his plans, and was seen loading a handgun. Police did a search, and found a loaded handgun concealed in the arrestee’s car.

4:52 p.m.—A suspect punched a victim in the face during an argument on Grant Court. The suspect grabbed a skateboard and struck the victim with it at a later point in the day.
