Criminal Acts: Stabbing, Burglary and Masked Men

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Thursday through Sunday from car accidents to thefts to assault. Here’s a selection from the latest press report. 

Sunday, Dec. 18
8:56 p.m.—A suspect refused to leave the armory on Wren Avenue, and when asked by staff, became aggressive and hit the security guard in the face. The suspect caused redness to the guard's face, and was subsequently booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

6 p.m.—An adult female stabbed her husband during a dispute on Gaunt Avenue. Her husband was taken to the hospital and the wife was arrested and booked.

2:35 p.m.—Sometime around 3 p.m., unknown suspect(s) gained entry into a 2004 Honda Civic by smashing its window and stole the CD player, an iPod and two purses.

Saturday, Dec. 17
8:21 p.m.—A person attempted to commit suicide on Arapaho Drive.

7:55 p.m.—A male suspect hit a female victim with his hands and feet several times, causing minor injuries. The male then threw a brick through the window of the hotel the two were staying at on Monterey Road, causing $400 in damage.

3 p.m.—A male was reportedly assaulted by a male on Wayland Lane. The victim told officers that the suspect's two accomplices held his arms while the third male attacked him. The victim was treated at a local hospital, and the suspects are still outstanding.

8:30 a.m.—An unknown suspect entered an unlocked vehicle on First Street and stole around $100 worth of Christmas presents.

1:55 a.m.—A vehicle was traveling southbound on Monterey Street at a high rate of speed and the driver lost control of the car. He collided on the side of the road. The driver was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence, and the passenger was arrested for being drunk in public.

Friday, Dec. 16
6:22 p.m.—A residential burglary occurred on Lilly Avenue and the unknown suspect(s) escaped with electronics and other selected items. The suspect(s) stole almost $2,000 worth of property.

1:15 a.m.—Two masked men forced two Gilroy Outlet store employees back into the store on San Ysidro Avenue as they were closing and about to leave. Once back in the store, the suspects forced the employees to open the safe and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

Wednesday, Dec. 14
4:33 p.m.—An unknown suspect forced open the window of a residence on Miller Avenue and stole a selection of property, ranging from jewelry to electronics. The suspect stole close to $5,500 worth of property.
